ANNE FAGAN Anne’s Breast Cancer journey
began in October 2003. At the age of 55, she was diagnosed with Invasive Carcinoma in SITU. As she said, “Whatever that
is, it certainly doesn’t have a nice ring to it!” October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and here she was celebrating
it in her own special way! Sentinel node biopsy, lumpectomy, 16 weeks of radiation at Brockton Hospital, completing treatment
on June 25, 2004. It has been a difficult journey for the grandmother of eight, both mentally and physically.
Looking back, Anne said she was grateful for her surgeon, family, friends, her oncologist, and people she had never met who
prayed for her and guided her along. It took a village to make her cancer free. She’ll be sending postcards to all from
her travels.

MARY NIEDERKORN Mary is a professional opera singer (Lyric
Opera of Chicago; Tanglewood Music Festival) who has recently made the crossover into film and theatre work. She has played
many roles in her real life: banker, mother, pastry chef, and cancer survivor, just to name a few. Because of the varied life
experiences she has had, she decided to leverage those experiences to express herself in a more personal way through acting,
and to reach a wider audience beyond classical music. The combination of being a strong natural talent, and many years of
musical stage experience have brought her much acclaim already. In just the last year, she has worked on four films for two
local film schools and several independent filmmakers on the East coast. She is currently studying acting with Jock MacDonald
of Carter Thor Studios East in Boston. She was drawn to I Am Not My Breasts as a way to express artistically her
own experience surviving ovarian cancer, and to give back to the community that gave her so much.
